Seeking help for substance abuse can be tough. On a small island it can be even harder. As a local and resident of Barbados, having had my own struggles with substance abuse, my family and I know. You may be at the end of your rope and really want to make a change. You may be concerned for a loved one. You may just be having a hard time finding someone knowledgeable and trustworthy you can talk to, with the avenues for help seeming limited or full of hurdles. This was the catalyst for OARS Barbados - where people can easily link with recovery professionals and view other available resources. Going it alone can feel like being alone in a row boat on the open ocean, struggling to steer steadily forward while battling strong currents and unexpected storms. OARS Barbados has therefore been launched to help amplify the options for substance abuse recovery services in a completely anonymous and highly accessible space.
